Overview We are seeking an experienced Project Support Officer (PSO) to join a dynamic programme delivery team supporting the successful execution of key business and technology initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised individual with strong project coordination skills to work across multiple workstreams within a complex stakeholder environment.
The successful candidate will provide essential support to Project Managers and Programme Managers, ensuring robust governance, reporting, planning and administration activities are delivered to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Project and Programme Managers with day-to-day project administration and coordination.
- Maintain project plans, RAID logs, action trackers and governance documentation.
- Coordinate project meetings, workshops and steering committees, including agenda preparation and minute taking.
- Track project milestones, deliverables and dependencies.
- Produce regular status reports and management information packs.
- Ensure project documentation is maintained in accordance with PMO standards.
- Monitor risks, issues and change requests, escalating where appropriate.
- Support financial tracking, resource management and reporting activities.
- Facilitate stakeholder communications and ensure timely follow-up on agreed actions.
- Assist with project onboarding, governance reviews and audit activities.
- Proven experience working as a Project Support Officer, PMO Analyst or Project Coordinator.
- Strong understanding of project delivery methodologies including Waterfall and Agile.
- Experience maintaining RAID logs, project plans and governance documentation.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Experience using project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, Jira or similar.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience supporting large-scale transformation or technology programmes.
- Knowledge of PMO frameworks and project governance best practices.
- PRINCE2 Foundation/Practitioner or equivalent project management certification.
- Experience working within regulated or enterprise-scale organisations.
