We have a requirement for a Power BI Developer (BI Developer) to join a growing data team, supporting the development and optimisation of an enterprise Microsoft BI environment.
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality data visualisations, semantic models, and reporting solutions, working closely with stakeholders to drive data-led decision making.
Key Responsibilities
- Power BI Development
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and paginated reports
- Build and optimise semantic models (star schemas, relationships, DAX measures, row-level security)
- Develop and maintain dataflows and shared datasets
- Apply dimensional modelling techniques to support analytics
- Collaborate with data engineers on technical design and documentation
- Ensure integration with the wider data platform
- Support the day-to-day management of the Power BI estate
- Workspace administration
- Dataset refresh monitoring
- Gateway management
- Optimise performance and ensure reliability
- Ensure adherence to governance, security, and development standards
- Gather and translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Produce Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
- Deliver actionable insights through effective visualisation
- Manage Azure DevOps work items (user stories, bugs, tasks)
- Contribute to version control, CI/CD pipelines, and release processes
- Keep up to date with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and emerging BI technologies
- Recommend improvements to tools, standards, and practices
- Strong experience with Power BI development (reports, dashboards, datasets)
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into BI solutions
- Solid understanding of data modelling (dimensional / star schema)
- Strong SQL/database experience (SQL Server or Oracle)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong stakeholder communication skills
- Data warehouse design experience
- Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO)
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric
- Business analysis experience
- Knowledge of ITIL frameworks
- Experience with web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, ASP.NET)

- Willingness/eligibility to undergo security clearance
