Job description

Product Owner, AI & Clinical Transformation Life Sciences Organization | Remote/Flexible Location | Full-Time
An innovative organization within the life sciences space is seeking a Product Owner to help drive a major AI-enabled transformation initiative across clinical development functions. This role sits at the intersection of business stakeholders, clinical subject matter experts, data and AI teams, and software engineering.
The successful candidate will own the full product lifecycle across multiple AI-powered products and platforms, translating strategic business goals into clear requirements, roadmaps, and delivery plans. This is an opportunity to shape a growing product function while helping bring advanced analytics, AI, automation, and clinical applications into production. What You'll Be Doing
  • Own product strategy, roadmap development, requirements definition, and delivery across a portfolio of AI and data-driven clinical products.
  • Partner with business leaders to understand desired outcomes and translate them into product requirements, data needs, AI capabilities, workflows, and user experiences.
  • Act as the primary connector between clinical stakeholders and engineering teams, ensuring alignment on priorities, scope, and delivery expectations.
  • Define and prioritize user stories, requirements, acceptance criteria, and product backlogs.
  • Identify dependencies, risks, and gaps across workstreams while helping teams maintain visibility into the broader transformation roadmap.
  • Collaborate closely with project management, AI engineering, data engineering, and software engineering leaders to drive successful outcomes.
  • Facilitate discussions that bring together stakeholders from diverse technical and clinical backgrounds to resolve ambiguity and drive decisions.
  • Challenge assumptions and pressure-test proposed solutions to ensure approaches are practical, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Contribute to the maturation of the organization's product management capability and operating model.
  • Support agile delivery processes and, depending on team structure, participate in sprint planning and execution activities.
Key Product Areas You'll contribute to a portfolio of AI-enabled clinical development products, including:
  • Interactive data analytics applications supporting real-time clinical data monitoring.
  • Safety signal detection platforms used to identify emerging clinical risks and trends.
  • AI-assisted data harvesting and analysis capabilities.
  • Statistical programming automation solutions designed to accelerate production of tables, listings, and figures.
  • Study design, startup, and feasibility platforms that provide real-time modeling of protocol, operational, and cost impacts.
  • Future regulatory document authoring solutions supporting protocols, clinical study reports, regulatory submissions, and related documentation.
Required Experience
  • Prior experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar product leadership role with responsibility for roadmap ownership and product delivery.
  • Experience gathering requirements and translating business objectives into actionable technical solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trust across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working closely with software engineering, data engineering, analytics, or other highly technical teams.
  • Domain expertise within clinical development, clinical operations, drug development, life sciences, healthcare technology, or related regulated environments.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority and facilitate alignment across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
Nice to Have
  • Experience supporting AI, machine learning, advanced analytics, or data-intensive products.
  • Understanding of agentic AI, generative AI, or intelligent workflow automation.
  • Technical background in software engineering, data engineering, analytics, or related disciplines.
  • Experience working with safety monitoring, clinical data management, risk-based quality management, or regulatory-focused systems.
  • Familiarity with Jira and agile delivery environments.
Team & Reporting Structure This role reports directly to the product leadership team and operates within a core delivery group that includes project management, AI engineering, data engineering, and software engineering leadership. The position partners extensively with clinical development, clinical operations, data management, and quality-focused stakeholders while helping align delivery across multiple transformation workstreams. Interview Process
  1. Initial interview with the hiring manager.
  2. One to two additional interviews focused on product, technical, and stakeholder collaboration capabilities.
  3. Finalists will meet key engineering leaders and selected executive stakeholders.
Why This Role? This position is ideal for someone who enjoys operating at the center of complex initiatives, translating vision into execution, and helping organizations realize practical value from AI and advanced technology investments. You'll have significant influence over both product direction and delivery while working on highly visible transformation programs with enterprise-wide impact.
If you're an experienced Product Owner who excels at bringing together business, clinical, and technical teams to build meaningful products, we'd love to speak with you.
