Job description

The Opportunity

We are partnering with a private equity-backed technology business to appoint a Financial Controller. Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a pivotal role within a high-growth, investor-backed environment, offering broad exposure across financial control, commercial finance, strategic projects and value creation initiatives.
As the business continues to scale organically and through acquisition, the successful candidate will take ownership of the finance function's day-to-day operations while helping to build the financial infrastructure required to support future growth. This role offers significant exposure to senior leadership, private equity stakeholders and board-level decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all aspects of financial control, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting across the business.
  • Manage the month-end close process, delivering timely and insightful management accounts.
  • Oversee the preparation of statutory accounts and support the year-end audit process.
  • Develop and enhance financial controls, policies and processes to support a growing and evolving organisation.
  • Partner with the CFO to deliver board reporting, investor reporting and lender covenant reporting.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management, providing analysis to aid strategic decision-making.
  • Drive improvements in financial systems, reporting capabilities and automation across the finance function.
  • Collaborate with commercial, sales and operational teams to provide financial insight and challenge business performance.
  • Manage and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Candidate Profile
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Previous experience within a private equity-backed business is highly desirable.
  • Strong technical accounting background with experience overseeing audit and statutory reporting processes.
  • Proven ability to improve processes, financial controls and reporting within a scaling organisation.
  • Experience partnering with senior stakeholders across finance and non-finance functions.
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with modern ERP and reporting systems.
  • Hands-on approach with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Why Apply?
This is an outstanding opportunity to join a private equity-backed technology business at an exciting stage of its growth journey. Working closely with an experienced CFO and leadership team, you will play a critical role in strengthening the finance function, supporting strategic initiatives and delivering value creation for investors.
