Job description

We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager with strong technical finance expertise and a background in philanthropy, international development, NGOs or the charitable sector on behalf of an incredible client.

Experience within a regranting organisation would be highly desirable, alongside a good understanding of managing institutional and philanthropic funding and distributing grants to partner organisations.

Alongside overseeing the organisation's core financial operations, the Finance Manager will support the financial management of our grant-making activities, including:
  • Managing restricted funds and donor reporting.
  • Monitoring grantee budgets, expenditure and compliance.
  • Conducting proportionate financial due diligence and risk assessments.
  • Reviewing financial reports and supporting grantees to address emerging issues.
  • Supporting funding proposals, budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Working closely with programme, grants and fundraising teams to ensure effective stewardship of donor funds.
  • Supporting audits, donor reviews and other assurance processes.
The successful candidate will combine sound financial judgement, strong attention to detail and excellent stakeholder management skills. They will be comfortable balancing robust financial oversight with a practical, supportive and partner-centred approach.

Experience of multi-donor funding, international grant-making, foreign currency transactions and working with locally led civil society organisations would be an advantage.
