We’re excited to continue introducing the team behind the launch of Investigo Germany, an important milestone in our international growth.
As we expand our presence in the German market, we’re proud to spotlight the people helping to build our network across technology, transformation, and engineering.
In this Q&A, we speak with Budmir Petar Knezevic, Partner at Investigo Germany, about his role, what excites him about the German technology market, and where organisations are currently facing the biggest hiring challenges.
What is your role at Investigo Germany, and which areas do you specialise in?
I am a Partner at Investigo Germany, specialising in the IT and Engineering markets. My role focuses on connecting highly skilled technical professionals with organisations that are driving innovation and transformation across Germany.
I work closely with both clients and candidates to understand not only the technical requirements of a role, but also the broader business objectives, company culture, and long-term vision behind each hiring decision. This allows me to support organisations in securing talent that can deliver long-term value.
What attracted you to joining Investigo and being part of the Germany launch?
What attracted me most was the opportunity to be part of building something meaningful from the ground up.
Investigo’s culture immediately stood out to me - collaborative, entrepreneurial, and strongly focused on long-term partnerships rather than purely transactional recruitment.
Being part of the Germany launch also provides a unique opportunity to shape how we approach the market, establish strong relationships with clients and candidates, and contribute to the growth of the brand during an exciting phase of expansion.
What are you seeing in the German tech and transformation market right now that excites you most?
What excites me most about the German market is the scale and pace of digital transformation across multiple industries.
Traditionally strong sectors such as manufacturing, automotive, and engineering are rapidly evolving and making significant investments in technology to remain competitive in a global market. There is a strong focus on automation, artificial intelligence, cloud adoption, and digital infrastructure.
Germany has long been recognised for its engineering excellence, and we are now seeing that legacy increasingly combined with advanced software and technology-driven innovation. This creates a very dynamic environment where organisations are not only looking for technical expertise but also for individuals who can actively drive transformation.
What skills or profiles are currently most in demand, and where are companies struggling to hire?
Across the German market, demand for experienced technology and engineering professionals continues to significantly outpace supply.
Some of the most sought-after profiles include Cloud Engineers, DevOps specialists, AI and Machine Learning experts, Cybersecurity professionals, and Software Engineers with strong expertise in backend development and cloud architecture. Within engineering, there is also strong demand for specialists in automation, embedded systems, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
Many organisations struggle to find professionals who combine deep technical expertise with strong communication skills and the ability to operate effectively in international and cross-functional environments. As a result, competition for top talent remains extremely high, requiring companies to move quickly and offer compelling opportunities to attract and retain the best candidates.
Why should candidates and businesses speak to Investigo Germany?
At Investigo, we take a highly consultative approach to recruitment. Our focus is on building long-term partnerships and developing a deep understanding of the strategic goals of both our clients and our candidates.
For businesses, this means access not only to high-quality talent but also valuable market insights and advisory support throughout the hiring process. For candidates, it means working with recruiters who truly understand the market and who can provide guidance on opportunities aligned with their long-term career ambitions.
As part of a global network while establishing a strong local presence in Germany, we are uniquely positioned to combine international reach with deep market expertise.
Outside of work, what do you enjoy doing?
Outside of work, I am a big fan of football and have a strong interest in watches.
Football has always been a major passion of mine. I enjoy following the game closely, watching matches, and staying connected to the sport whenever possible; it’s a great way to relax and switch off after a busy week.
I also have a keen interest in watches. I appreciate the craftsmanship, engineering, and history behind different timepieces. It’s fascinating to see how precision engineering and timeless design come together to create something that is both functional and highly refined.
