This is an opportunity for a driven Finance leader to join a highly successful Group, working as part of, and supporting the senior leadership team.

  • The Head of FP&A will take ownership for plans, forecasts and financial performance and will oversee the treasury function.
  • Acting as the key finance business partner to the leadership team on every major investment, you will play a significant role in the future growth of the business.
  • You will build the forecasting, reporting and business-partnering capability that lets the company grow with confidence: Ensuring a budget that leadership trusts, a rolling forecast that moves with the business, and clear answers to “what happens if”.
  • This is a senior leadership role and a mandate to raise the bar on financial rigour across the company.

Reporting into the CFO and leading the FP&&A Team - Key Accountabilities include:

Planning and forecasting

  • Own the annual budget process and the long-range (5 year) plan, from first assumptions to board approval
  • Run a rolling monthly forecast covering P&L, cash flow and balance sheet, with clear variance analysis against budget and prior forecast
  • Build and maintain the driver-based financial model, including scenario and sensitivity analysis

Reporting and insight

  • Deliver the monthly management pack and board reporting: results, KPIs, drivers and the story behind the numbers
  • Define and track the KPIs that matter, and make sure the business measures what it manages
  • Turn analysis into recommendations: pricing, investment cases, cost reviews, capacity decisions

Business partnering

  • Act as finance partner to the CEO, CFO and functional heads, challenging plans and spend constructively
  • Partner with sponsors to shape investment proposals before they reach the committee
  • Support fundraising, M&A, debt or investor reporting as the business needs
  • Work with the Corporate Financial Controller to keep actuals, forecast and reporting on one consistent data model

Investment and business cases

  • Own the end-to-end investment and business case process: templates, appraisal standards, approval thresholds and governance
  • Review and challenge every case before submission, testing assumptions, returns (NPV, IRR, payback) and risks
  • Assist with preparing and presenting the investment papers and the portfolio view to the Business Development Committee, with a clear recommendation on each
  • Control approved investments against plan: track spend, milestones and benefits, and escalate variances
  • Run post-investment reviews and feed the lessons back into future cases and the forecast

Treasury

  • Oversee the Treasury Manager, and own cash management, liquidity planning and shorter term cash flow forecasts

The perfect candidate will have come from a Corporate Finance background and have a good working understanding Capital Allocation and discounted cash-flow.
