Job description

The Ideal profile is someone coming from a top 20 accountancy practice with 1-2 years PQE (ACA OR ACCA)

This role supports the Financial Controller in delivering high-quality financial reporting across a complex multi-entity group. The successful candidate will take ownership of key areas including audit, statutory reporting, technical accounting, and stakeholder reporting processes.
Acting as a key point of contact for auditors, tax advisors, and other external partners, the role offers broad exposure to investor reporting, financing structures, and strategic business initiatives within a fast-growing private equity-backed organisation.
Working closely with both the Group Financial Controller and CFO, the individual will be given significant responsibility from an early stage. The role is designed to develop into a future finance leadership position, with a clear progression pathway towards the Group Financial Controller role.
Key Responsibilities

Audit & Statutory Reporting
  • Lead the annual Group audit process, acting as the primary point of contact for external auditors.
  • Oversee the outsourced preparation and delivery of statutory financial statements and tax returns.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all statutory and compliance obligations.
Financial & Stakeholder Reporting
  • Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for shareholders, investors, and lenders.
  • Coordinate and manage lender reporting requirements across the Group.
  • Respond to ad-hoc queries and information requests from investors and other stakeholders.
Technical Accounting & Controls
  • Act as the primary finance lead for technical accounting matters, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
  • Prepare technical accounting and position papers for significant or complex transactions.
  • Present accounting conclusions and recommendations to auditors and key stakeholders.
  • Review consolidated financial information and challenge accounting treatments where appropriate.
Projects & Strategic Support
  • Support strategic initiatives including acquisitions, refinancing, corporate restructures, and business growth activities.
  • Contribute to financial analysis and wider business projects as required by senior leadership.
Stakeholder & Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with external advisors, including auditors, tax advisors, and administrators.
  • Support the Group Financial Controller and CFO with ad-hoc requests and cross-functional initiatives.
