Quantitative Developer – eTrading Platform - London

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantitative Developer to join a leading financial institution in London. This role focuses on the design and development of the next-generation eTrading platform within the bank’s Global Markets division. This is a globally oriented position that empowers you to work on cutting-edge trading solutions and make a critical impact within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of the core trading algorithmic platform in line with the business’s evolving needs.
  • Define and implement monitoring tools to track platform performance, both in general and in real time.
  • Continuously identify and propose innovative solutions to improve the eTrading platform and address cross-organisational challenges.
  • Build and promote a cross-asset Research & Development framework in collaboration with international teams.
  • Collaborate with management to define specifications for new projects and estimate implementation costs.
  • Lead the delivery of non-routine tasks and mentor junior colleagues within the team.
  • Act as a key stakeholder in critical projects, such as exchange interactivity and onboarding initiatives.
  • Promote best practices in platform usage and assist in resolving production-level issues when needed.
Your Skills and Qualifications
  • Exceptional programming skills, particularly in Java and Python, with demonstrable experience in an industrial context.
  • Expert-level experience in eTrading quantitative development within Global Markets.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and an ability to proactively identify areas for development.
  • Advanced relationship management and communication skills to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A track record of leading projects and delivering innovative quantitative solutions.
  • A postgraduate degree (e.g., MSc or PhD) in Computing Science or a related quantitative discipline.
