We are seeking an experienced SAP Application Support Specialist to join a business-critical applications team responsible for supporting and maintaining a complex SAP environment. This position plays a key role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of SAP systems while providing technical expertise to users across multiple business functions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating and resolving application issues, supporting system changes, managing security and access requirements, and working closely with both technical and functional stakeholders to drive service improvements.
This role suits an individual with strong SAP support experience who enjoys troubleshooting complex issues, collaborating with business users, and contributing to the continuous enhancement of enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide second and third-line support for SAP applications and related technologies
- Investigate and resolve technical and functional incidents within agreed service levels.
- Support user access management, security administration, and compliance activities.
- Manage transport requests and assist with change and release processes.
- Support interfaces, integrations, workflows, and cross-application processes.
- Assist with administration and support of SAP-based employee and expense management solutions.
- Monitor scheduled jobs, interfaces, workflows, and system performance, resolving issues where required.
- Work with internal stakeholders and third-party support providers to deliver effective solutions.
- Support system testing, upgrades, and deployment activities.
- Maintain technical documentation, support procedures, and knowledge base articles.
- Identify opportunities to improve support processes and system performance.
- Proven experience supporting SAP environments within a commercial organisation.
- Strong understanding of business processes across areas such as finance, procurement, logistics, manufacturing, human resources, and supply chain operations.
- Experience administering SAP security roles, permissions, and user access controls.
- Knowledge of transport management and change control processes.
- Experience supporting integrations and interfaces between SAP and other business systems.
- Familiarity with SAP administration activities, including user management, job monitoring, troubleshooting, and system housekeeping tasks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a structured approach to issue resolution.
- Experience working within a multi-site or international business environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage priorities effectively and work independently when required.
- Exposure to SAP expense management platforms.
- Experience supporting SAP Fiori applications and user interfaces.
- Knowledge of workflow solutions and process automation technologies.
- Previous experience working alongside SAP support partners or consulting organisations.
- Experience supporting global or multi-country SAP landscapes.
- Additional European language skills would be advantageous.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical mindset.
