THE ROLE
- Lead the day-to-day finance function
- Line manage the company Bookkeeper
- Produce monthly management accounts
- Prepare annual/monthly budgets and rolling forecasts
- Manage cash-flow forecasting and working capital
- Provide financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Support pricing and profitability analysis
- Identify opportunities to improve margins and operational efficiency
- Evaluate investment opportunities and business cases
- Support international financial planning as overseas operations grow
- Produce and present Board packs, financial reports and KPI dashboards
- Monitor profitability across products, customers and projects
- Maintain appropriate financial controls and internal processes
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements
- Manage month-end and year-end close
- Liaise with external accountants and auditors
- Prepare VAT returns
- Oversee UK and international tax compliance
