Job description

Overview
We are working with one of our largest key clients in the region who is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Finance Associate to join their finance team. This role is ideal for a part-qualified accountant who is looking for further development within finance and to gain exposure into a more commercially facing role.

The position will be reporting and insight focused, combining strong technical accounting, financial control, and FP&A responsibilities with the ability to produce high-quality commercial insights that support strategic decision-making. You will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, delivering timely reporting, and providing forward-looking analysis to support business performance.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Management Information
  • Produce accurate and timely management accounts, financial reports, and performance packs
  • Maintain robust reporting frameworks and ensure data integrity across all financial outputs
  • Support senior stakeholders with clear, insightful commentary on financial performance
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and KPI reporting
Forecasting, Budgeting & Planning (FP&A)
  • Support the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans
  • Manage forecasting cycles, including variance analysis against budget and prior periods
  • Produce scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis to support decision-making
  • Assist in the development of financial models to support business planning
Management of Actuals & Month-End Close
  • Own and support month-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations
  • Analyse actuals vs forecast/budget and provide variance commentary
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies
Balance Sheet, Audit & Compliance
  • Maintain balance sheet integrity through regular reconciliations and reviews
  • Support internal and external audit processes
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, statutory, and financial reporting requirements
  • Assist with statutory accounts preparation and regulatory submissions
Cash-flow & Working Capital
  • Monitor and manage cash-flow reporting and forecasting
  • Support working capital management (AR/AP, inventory, liquidity)
  • Provide insights to improve cash generation and financial efficiency
Strategic & Commercial Insight
  • Deliver high-quality financial insights to support strategic initiatives
  • Partner with operational and commercial teams to improve financial performance
  • Support business cases, investment appraisals, and project evaluations
  • Contribute to long-term strategic planning activities
Market & Competitor Analysis
  • Conduct competitor and market analysis
  • Benchmark financial performance against industry standards
  • Support strategic positioning through commercial intelligence

Candidate Profile
Qualifications
  • Part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA)
  • Actively studying towards full qualification
Experience & Skills
  • Experience in financial reporting, FP&A, or management accounting
  • Strong understanding of core accounting principles
  • Experience with forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
  • Solid Excel and financial modelling skills
  • Experience with ERP/finance systems (desirable)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
