The company
A global energy company is seeking an experienced Credit Manager to join its London-based team. The business operates across international gas, power and LNG markets and offers a fast-paced, commercial environment with strong exposure to global trading activity.
Role & responsibilites
You will be responsible for managing credit risk across the LNG portfolio, ensuring effective monitoring, control and mitigation of counterparty risk while supporting commercial activity.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing credit risk for LNG transactions, with potential exposure to Gas and Power portfolios
- Monitoring credit exposures and identifying risk mitigation opportunities
- Reviewing financials and setting counterparty credit limits
- Partnering with trading, finance and risk teams on transaction approvals
- Maintaining and improving credit risk models, processes and reporting
- Supporting credit-related negotiations with counterparties
- Providing credit recommendations to senior management
- Strong credit risk experience within commodity trading or investment banking
- Energy market knowledge, ideally LNG and gas
- Experience assessing counterparties and setting credit limits
- Strong financial analysis and risk assessment skills
- Understanding of commodity trading documentation and credit terms
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced trading environment
- A senior credit risk role in a global trading environment
- Exposure to international LNG markets
- Collaborative and commercial environment
