Job description

Exceptional opportunity for an AAT qualified or part qualified Accountant as Assistant Management Accountant within a an excellent culture business who are enjoying continued growth based in Central Hertfordshire.
 
Whilst reporting in to the Financial Controller you will be joining a friendly finance team and will gain exposure to a variety of accounting duties. This role is perfectly suited to a candidate looking to gain full qualification.   
 
Accountabilities and duties include:
 
  • Play a key role in the reconciliation of revenue on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Supporting and assisting with Management Accounts.
  • Take ownership of bank reconciliations; investigate and clear reconciling items promptly.
  • Prepare weekly aged debtor and creditor reports, taking ownership of the ledgers and resolving issues.
  • Process employee expenses and company credit cards, ensuring compliance with company policies and timely reconciliations.
  • Provide AP support by validating supplier set‑up, resolving coding queries, chasing invoices/statements, and preparing due‑for‑payment listings for payment runs.
  • Maintain structured, audit‑ready documentation and assist with the preparation of Audits.
  • Assist with the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist with the production and posting of month end journals.
 
Skills & Experience Required
1–3 years in finance support / ledger / junior accounting role (flexible).
Hands‑on bank reconciliation experience (must).
Good Excel (lookups, pivots, filters); comfortable cleaning data.
Accounting system exposure: Dynamics 365, QBO, Xero, Sage, or similar.
Organised, deadline‑driven; communicates blockers early.
Clear documentation & evidence discipline.
Strong transactional background.
Strong attention to detail.
