The Opportunity
We’re working with a growing SME that’s looking to bring in an Accounts Payable Clerk to strengthen their finance function. This role is ideal for someone from a small to medium-sized business background who’s confident with the fundamentals of AP and is keen to step up, learn more, and grow with the business.
You’ll be joining a close-knit finance team where you’ll have real visibility, exposure beyond transactional tasks, and the chance to broaden your skill set as the company continues to scale.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-end processing of supplier invoices
- Matching, batching and coding invoices accurately
- Managing supplier statements and resolving queries efficiently
- Preparing and processing payment runs
- Maintaining the accounts payable ledger
- Supporting month-end processes, including accruals and reconciliations
- Liaising with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
- Assisting with ad-hoc finance tasks and process improvements
- Previous experience in an accounts payable or finance assistant role, ideally within an SME environment
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on finance function
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
- Confident communicator who enjoys building relationships with suppliers and colleagues
- Keen to learn, develop, and take on more responsibility over time
- Studying AAT (or keen to start) would be an advantage but not essential
