I am working with a well-established organisation in the energy sector who are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Project Manager on an initial contract basis.
This is an on-premises infrastructure focus and the ideal individual will bring a blend of strong project management capability alongside some hands-on or adjacent technical experience, particularly around server patching automation.
You will be responsible for managing and coordinating a number of infrastructure workstreams, with an initial focus on reducing manual effort in patching processes through automation. Projects in scope include:
- Automation of pre/post checks for server patching, using SCCM and PowerShell to reduce human effort across the patching lifecycle. There may also be an element of low-code tooling evaluation to support this.
- Preparation of interim environments to support server operations during transition periods.
- Server migration from an overseas location to the UK, including rack preparation and physical infrastructure readiness.
- Potential involvement in immutable backup planning, subject to programme scope.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Infrastructure Project Manager, with a focus on on-premises environments
- Hands-on or working knowledge of server patching processes and automation — experience with SCCM is highly desirable
- PowerShell scripting experience or comfort working alongside those who are scripting (development background advantageous)
- Experience managing physical infrastructure projects including server migrations and data centre / rack work
- Ability to coordinate across technical teams and manage programme-level dependencies
Please make an application if you feel this position may be relevant.
