This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing retail organisation in Luton as a Finance Manager – Commercial, with strong career progression and the chance to build a team of 2–3 Analysts in the near future.
The Role As the Finance Manager – Commercial, you’ll play a key role in driving financial performance across the retail estate. Acting as a trusted Finance Business Partner to store leadership and senior stakeholders, you’ll provide commercial insights that shape pricing, stock decisions, and competitive positioning.
You’ll bring clarity to large and complex data sets, turning analysis into actionable recommendations, and confidently presenting your views in meetings—challenging assumptions where needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide commercial insight to support store performance, pricing strategy, stock decisions and promotional activity.
- Analyse large and complex data sets, ensuring high‑quality, accurate reporting and insight.
- Lead on competitor analysis, margin trends, and commercial performance metrics.
- Act as a strong Finance Business Partner to store leaders and senior stakeholders.
- Present recommendations clearly and confidently, influencing discussions and challenging where needed.
- Support longer‑term strategic planning and budgeting cycles.
- Build out and manage a team of 2–3 Analysts as the function grows.
- Drive continuous improvement across reporting, analysis and insight.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong commercial finance or FP&A experience—ideally within retail or a similar fast‑paced environment.
- Exceptional analytical capability with experience handling large data sets.
- Confident communicator—written and verbal—able to influence and push back when needed.
- Comfortable leading discussions, making recommendations, and challenging assumptions.
- Ambition to build and develop a high‑performing analyst team.
