A growing, multi-site Facilities organisation is looking to appoint a Management Accountant to support the production of high-quality management accounts, forecasts and insightful financial analysis. This role offers strong exposure to senior stakeholders, commercial finance teams and operational leadership, making it ideal for an accountant who enjoys partnering with the business rather than working purely in the background.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce and review accurate month-end results, including revenue, payroll and cost reporting
- Ownership of designated areas of the P&L, ensuring correct recognition, completeness and cut-off
- Prepare and post period-end journals
- Review costs and revenues, investigating and explaining variances
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and support strong financial controls
- Drive continuous improvement in month-end processes, documentation and automation
- Deliver clear variance analysis and commentary for management reporting packs
- Support the ongoing development and improvement of reporting outputs to meet business needs
- Present and explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders
- Support regular forecasting cycles and the annual budgeting process
- Assist with analysis of forecast and budget variances
- Work closely with senior finance stakeholders to ensure timelines and assumptions are clearly communicated
- Support audit processes and external information requests
- Produce ad hoc reports and analysis for the wider business
- Contribute to finance projects including system improvements and process efficiencies
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or qualified by experience)
- Proven experience producing management accounts and variance analysis
- Strong commercial mindset with the ability to interpret and explain numbers
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
- Confident communicator with strong attention to detail
- Proactive, adaptable and willing to challenge existing processes
- Experience with ERP and reporting tools beneficial (not essential)
- Willingness to travel to other UK sites occasionally
